This page is for Maryland Retailers who currently accept the Independence Card for Cash or Food Supplement (FSP) benefits. If you wish to accept the Independence Card, please contact the United States Department of Agriculture at 1-877-823-4369 for information regarding the application process. To report suspected EBT fraud, you should call 1-800-492-5515.

Maryland is a Quest State

Maryland is interoperable with all 50 states plus Washington DC, the Virgin Islands and Guam through its Quest membership. The Quest Operating Rules are the foundation for nationwide EBT. The public/private partnership is committed to developing and maintaining uniform EBT operating rules and interstate, nationwide.

As residents of a Quest state, Maryland customers can use their Independence Cards at stores displaying the Quest logo (pictured above) in any of the 50 states plus Washington DC, the Virgin Islands and Guam.

ACS EBT Retailer Help Desk

Retailers can receive assistance on contract or training related issues, manual voucher authorizations or daily ACH balances by calling the ACS EBT Retailer Help Desk at 1-877-326-5899, 24- hours a day, 7 days a week.

Customers also have toll-free, 24-hour Customer Services at 1-800-997-2222.

Retailers are provided with POS terminals based on the size of the establishment and the amount of sales.
